CURIOUS ABOUT GIVING?
GET TO KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US
St. Stephen's United Methodist Church is an official non-profit 501(c)3 organization which exists to serve as a welcoming and inclusive community of people dedicating to transforming the world through acts of social holiness. We do not store away our treasures for safe keeping; we give away all we have to those in need, both locally and around the world.
It would be perfect if churches could exist without cost, yet we do not let the budget of maintaining a building and providing a livable salary for our pastor keep us from giving our time, prayer, earnings, and selves to any needing help.
Annually the people of St. Stephen's donates significant amounts to local organizations such as My Brother's Table, LifeBridge, Marblehead Food Pantry, Plummer Youth Promise, Northeast Animal Shelter, and many more. We also allocate discretionary funds to help those within our community and around town to make ends meet or overcome unexpected financial conundrums.
A portion of our giving also is sent to the greater United Methodist denomination, which operates multiple international charities and relief organizations who are first responders to local, national, and worldwide disasters. One agency in particular, UMCOR, (the United Methodist Committee on Relief) began during WWII to respond to the wounded and have gone on to help resettle thousands of refugees. Their stories continue to inspire us and show to all what the kingdom of God looks like here on earth.
We view our church to be one of many in a great connection of United Methodist churches who can achieve far more together than alone.
Life happens and the people of St. Stephen's are here to help.
We appreciate your interest in helping us continue to be a place of help, love, and joy for all.
